Passion
From Digital Alterity Wiki
Many of you know that I have a tendency toward depression. When depressed, I become uncharacteristically apathetic. I stop doing much of anything in a haze of "I don't really care". Throwing myself fully into geekery and whatever my current interests are has been quite helpful in combatting this liability. If I stay busy on things I care about, then I'm less likely to end up in that dark default state.
In an effort to keep myself cognizant of things I care about, I created this list. All of these things are items that I feel passionate about. They may seem like small things, but they aren't small to me. Each of the items on this list inspire me to do something. Some are concrete objects. Some are people, and some are abstract concepts that motivate or intrigue me. This list also makes a handy reference guide for conversation with me. I'm typically very excited to talk about any of the items on this list. Asking me about these things increases the capital you've invested in my emotional bank account. People who genuinely take the time to engage in earnest conversation on these topics are people who make me feel appreciated and loved.
